    Day 37 -What is that bright light in the sky?

    Filed under: UK Trip 2017;

    That was the first question Thomas asked today when we awoke to sunshine and blue skies today. We made the most of it with lots of walking and sight seeing. First up was a trip on the DLR through to Canary Wharf which is a major business district in London, within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is one of the United Kingdom’s two main financial centres – along with the City of London – and contains many of Europe’s tallest buildings, including the second-tallest in the UK, One Canada Square.

    We then walked under the Thames through the Greenwich foot tunnel. I was fine until ian asked “ are you bothered by the fact so many tiles have cracked?” A quick exit for me up in the lift.

    Then on to explore the Cutty Sark. The  Cutty Sark is a British clipper ship. She was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest.

    Check out the blue sky!

    Jan was craving traditional fish and chips so off we went in search of a good pub. Luckily we found one right beside our next tourist stop, HMS Belfast.
